Containing a lot of dead yeast cells, it is a rich source of rumen-degradable protein as well as high energy in a rumen-friendly form. Trials have shown that yeast cells increase the production of microbial protein in the rumen. MSPB on trial in China During a technical trial on-farm on over 250 milking cows in Tianjin in 2008, the group fed MSBP produced significantly more milk and had a higher dry matter intake than the control group. Milk fat content was also higher when the cows were fed MSBP.
